Frequently asked questions

Alias Browser — profiles, privacy, proxies, automation & licensing · Last updated 15 June 2026.

Everything commonly asked about Alias Browser — the anti-detect browser with unlimited isolated profiles, zero telemetry, per-profile proxy & VPN, and API + MCP automation. Deeper answers live in the guides.

What is Alias Browser?

Alias Browser is an anti-detect browser for managing multiple online accounts. Each browser profile gets its own realistic fingerprint, isolated cookies and storage, and its own proxy or VPN, so websites see every profile as a different device. It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux (x64 and arm64), with zero telemetry and a free tier.

Is Alias Browser free?

Yes — the free tier includes unlimited isolated profiles with fingerprint isolation and per-profile proxies, with no account required. Paid Pro plans add the local REST API, MCP server for AI agents, and encrypted cloud sync.

What platforms does Alias Browser support?

macOS (universal), Windows (installer and portable), and Linux — .deb for amd64 and arm64, plus .rpm. Download links are at aliasbrowser.com/download.

What browser engines does Alias Browser use?

Alias profiles run on hardened Chromium and Firefox (Camoufox) engines with realistic, per-profile fingerprints. New profiles use Camoufox by default.

Does Alias Browser collect my data?

No. Alias has zero telemetry and requires no account to run. Profiles, fingerprints, cookies, and proxy configs stay on your device. Optional sync is end-to-end encrypted and can be self-hosted on your own server.

How is an anti-detect browser different from incognito mode?

Incognito only discards cookies after the session — your fingerprint and IP stay identical, so websites still recognize the device. An anti-detect browser changes the fingerprint itself and routes each profile through its own IP, making profiles look like genuinely different devices.

Can I automate Alias Browser?

Yes. Pro includes a local REST API (default port 10108) for creating, launching, and controlling profiles, and a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server so AI agents like Claude and Cursor can drive real fingerprint-isolated profiles. See the automation guide at aliasbrowser.com/guides/automate-browser-profiles-with-api-and-mcp.

Does Alias Browser work with proxies?

Yes — assign a dedicated proxy (HTTP, SOCKS5) or a WireGuard VPN per profile. The profile's traffic only ever uses that connection, including WebRTC.

How many accounts can I manage with Alias Browser?

There is no profile limit on any tier, including free. One profile per account is the recommended setup.

Will using Alias Browser get my accounts banned?

Alias removes the technical linkage between accounts (fingerprints, cookies, IP). Bans usually come from operational mistakes: reused emails, payment details, or IPs, and bot-like behavior. Follow one profile + one dedicated IP per account and act like a normal user.

Is my Pro license transferable to a new computer?

Yes — install Alias Browser on the new machine and activate with the same license key. Licenses are managed in the app's account settings.

Can I self-host Alias Browser's sync server?

Yes. The sync server is self-hostable, and all synced data is end-to-end encrypted before it leaves your device — the server (ours or yours) never sees plaintext profiles.
